Jharkhand police write to Meta after JMM alleges BJP’s ‘shadow accounts’ on FB, Insta tarnishing Hemant After JMM complains to state CEO, polling body says police have asked Meta for the details of those running three pages and for posts to be taken down; BJP denies involvement. This comes days after Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) general secretary Vinod Pandey wrote to the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) regarding the social media accounts and alleging a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

In response, Jharkhand CEO K Ravi Kumar wrote a letter on November 11 saying that the state police’s Cyber Crime police station has asked Meta for details of the administrator of these pages and for their posts to be This comes amid Assembly elections in Jharkhand, where the first phase of polling was held on Wednesday and the second phase will be held on November 20.
